The central theme of the 14th European Congress on Biotechnology is Symbiosis, Science, Industry & Society; analyzing the impact of the life sciences industry in addressing humanity’s great challenges, looking to society to see the remaining and emerging needs, and presenting the science that will address these new challenges.
The theme Symbiosis will be addressed through 4 parallel Scientific Streams:
Focusing on the latest achievements in biotechnology to improve existing treatments and bring forward novel approaches, with a special focus on the development of new innovative and targeted medicines that will impact future medicines and therapies.
A multidisciplinary approach including applied biocatalysis, biochemical engineering, microbial physiology and systems biology – all focused on innovation in industrial biotechnology and the development of the Knowledge-Based Bio-Economy.
Exploring the benefits and challenges derived from the application of biotechnologies in agriculture and their key role in providing the biomass the world needs, including sessions on the latest developments in the fields of environmental biotechnology and biodiversity.
Novel “omics” and technology based approaches to dramatically increasing and improving capacities for experimentation in Biotechnology, especially at the molecular level.
